Pangolin – I understand your frustration at people’s lack of compassion, even with those who know and realise the full consequences of climate change (as I said in the article), I feel it too. The article was written more to point this out to people who have already suspected this, and so help reframe the debate between them on climate action away from specific technologies etc to one of psychology and society, rather than change the former people’s minds – so I don’t think it was a waste of time after all, just a contribution to a wider discussion.

Jeremy – I assume you mean my spelling of civilisation rather than civilization – civilisation is the British spelling (and as a British writer I reserve the right to spell that way!). I apologise for any confusion caused by the slight US-UK language barrier, but it’s somewhat unavoidable I’m afraid.

I like the idea’s in your blog about challenging the way society but shouldn’t civilization as at least be spelled correctly if you want people to take your opinions seriously?c

men thinks is smarter than God, or nature. building large cities was one of the biggest mistakes and an open act of rebelion against its own nature. If a war or who knows what epidemic hits the cities, they will become collective graves. but how can this problem be solved now, when governments want people enslaved in the system? personally I don’t know, only God knows, maybe by burning this doomed planet.

You’re absolutely right about the Climate Change debate, lack of rather, being a crisis of compassion. We have all been taught not to care about the guy next door much less a stranger in Bangladesh getting flooded out and drowned.

Where you will be thwarted is that those who understand Climate Change are no more compassionate than anybody else. The majority will do nothing that does not benefit them or increase their personal status first and foremost. Until we get past every man for himself and kick the homeless you’re wasting your time on such long posts.

I wish it were different.

Wow, that is kind of drastic. Would not the destruction and rebuilding itself have an impact on the environment too?

I want to add to my last posting that people have been disconnected from their truth and isolated from the awsome whole. Lured into a blind state of security and freedom. these are all illusions. I do not think violence or protest is the answer. We must starve the beast by not feeding it our hopes and dreams anymore. Deny it what it needs the most. Disconnect from the system and reconnect with our natural state. It only takes 15% of us to affectely change the thinking of the whole.

Wow. I just watched the movie Avatar. It really drove home the message behind corporate greed. I have believed for sometime now we have been subjects of a creul system that drians the life out of all it touches to propelle itself to greater power. And cedit is the new world slavery. But for sometime now I havent been able to figure out hoe to get the message out to others. I am releived to see that someone has with this site. There is a great need now more than ever to wake up the sleeping,. I beleive the time is at hand the liberation of this planet and we as part of that is near, very near.
